The Change in Promotional Beach Towels
What a difference a few years has made in the promotional towels industry. Not so much in the fabric of the towels, although there have been some major changes there as well, but in the decoration process.
Let’s take a short journey down memory lane.
Not so long ago, a promotional beach towel was a rectangular piece of fabric, 30” x 60” or so, generally white. They could be printed in a 24” x 48” area on one side. Multicolor prints were available, but highly restricted. Remember, a liquid ink is being used on a terrycloth or velour material, so there needed to be a tolerance of 1/8” to ¼” between colors being printed.
Pricing was based on the number of colors being printed, as well as the quality of the towel. Each print color would add $.80 to #1.20 each, PLUS a screen charge of $50.0-$80.00 per color.
Fast forward a few years. The “go to process” for printing on towels is now full color sublimation. No longer restricted to a 24” x 48” area, the towel which starts out as white can now be printed edge to edge. There is no longer a tolerance between print colors.
The material has changed as well. Instead of the sand capturing terrycloth (did you really mean to take half the beach home with you?) or velour material, logoed beach towels can be made of super absorbent polyester microfiber material.
CHH Engraving offers both styles. And more. If you have a one, or possibly two, color logo that will really pop on a white towel, absolutely go for the traditional towel. If you want or need to be colorful, take advantage of the new technology and printing capabilities. Whichever way you decide, CHH Engraving will provide you with the best option for your needs.
One last thing! While the featured item here has been promotional beach towels, know that the same applies to logoed golf towels, workout towels, cooling towels and just about any kind of towel.
